HOW BOUT THAT ALL STAR GAME

How bout that All Star game? Whats a better way to sit and spend an evening than watching high class athletes stroke balls out of the park as the national league tries to ride that Pujols train to victory. With that crafty, seasoned, dare i say grizzled knuckleballer on the mound for the AL its gonna be a tough road to victory for the NL. My biggest issue with the All Star game this year, however, is the fan vote in spots. Somehow, Carlos Pena is on the ballot, which means he was not voted in initially by the fans. Ok, what?? Were talking about that kid from tampa who has straight muscled more balls out of the park than any player in the American League. While his batting average is a measly .231(barely his own playing weight), he is still a more than worthy candidate for the show. Whats worse is that Kevin Youkilis of all people got the nod over my boy Pena. Red Sawks Nation strikes again. Some of you may say: "But Hawley, this is a fan vote and lets face it Pena has basically gone somewhat under the radar even with his home run hitting prowess. Its up to the fans to decide who gets to play." Although i agree, i guess i just had more faith in the sports viewing masses *SIGH*. And even though i would have liked to have seen Pena make the roster outright, this is what the second vote in is for.
In the end the All Star game proves to be a great matchup and, unlike some All Star games(NBA), this game actually matters and is enjoyable to watch. When its all said and done im calling for a 7-4 National League victory. This win will be the result of Pujols and his uncanny ability to smoke the ball and Tim Lincecum's dirty pitching. THATS NASTY!
